Catching up: 7 camping blog posts we didn’t post, until now.

We’ve been so busy that we haven’t posted about the last 7 camping trips we’ve taken. Some trips were to familiar campgrounds (3) and others (4) were new to us. Here’s a quick summary by month: Red Rock Canyon State Park, Nov. 2018; Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton (new), Nov. 2018; Flying Flags RV Resort, Dec. 2018; Oasis Palms RV Resort (new), Feb. 2019; Refugio State Beach (new), March 2019; Anza Borrego State Park, March 2019; Chino Hills State Park (new).

That’s a lot to talk about! We’ll try to summarize each the best we can to keep this post reasonably short.

Hikes, Bikes, Snakes, Shakes and a Rabbit Cabal …

That pretty much sums up our latest 3-night, 2-day return trip to Crystal Cove State Park in May. We really like this place, despite the fact it’s a little pricey. The only reason we got to go to Crystal Cove this time is because someone cancelled his or her reservation and my wife happened to be on the booking site. It’s hard to reserve a site here, especially on weekends and holidays. Our campsite, #18, was on a bluff with a great view of the ocean. We got lots of exercise and I lost weight! Well, I really don’t know that because I didn’t weigh myself, but that’s the story I’m stickin’ with.

I Hope It Doesn’t Eat Aluminum!!

Anza Borrego is a California State Park located in the desert about 85 miles northeast of San Diego, California. This was our second ever outing destination in our new Airstream in April 2014, and we have returned several times since. We usually stay at the Borrego Palm Canyon Campground, but it’s dangerous as you can see!!
