About a week after returning from the Parkfield Blue Grass Festival, we took off on a weeklong camping trip to Bishop, California, for the 50th annual Mule Days Festival that took place over the Memorial Day weekend. This was another Greater Los Angeles Airstream Club gathering and it was a lot of fun! The festival featured mule and donkey events of all kinds and the scenery was gorgeous.
We like music, all kinds of music, and recently, we attended the famous Parkfield Bluegrass Festival with members of the Greater Los Angeles Airstream Club. We camped at the V6 Ranch, listened to some great music, stepped on the San Andreas Fault and took a side trip to a nearby car and military museum.
We’ve been so busy that we haven’t posted about the last 7 camping trips we’ve taken. Some trips were to familiar campgrounds (3) and others (4) were new to us. Here’s a quick summary by month: Red Rock Canyon State Park, Nov. 2018; Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton (new), Nov. 2018; Flying Flags RV Resort, Dec. 2018; Oasis Palms RV Resort (new), Feb. 2019; Refugio State Beach (new), March 2019; Anza Borrego State Park, March 2019; Chino Hills State Park (new).
That’s a lot to talk about! We’ll try to summarize each the best we can to keep this post reasonably short.
We’ve been very, very lazy about keeping this blog up to date with our travels. We haven’t posted since October of 2018 even though we’ve visited a number of campgrounds and celebrated and anniversary. Hopefully, we will catch up soon. As a first installment of catch up, here’s a post about the anniversary we celebrated last September.
My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary on September 4, 2018. It’s been a great 25 years and it’ll be fun seeing what the next 25 brings us. How she’s been able to stand me for so long still escapes me so I guess I’m just extremely lucky.
Our anniversary was about a week-long celebration consisting of eating, hiking and a trip to a famous, haunted hotel.
We have been lazy this summer by not posting our last several camping trips taken over the 2018 summer, so here is one post for the three that we took.
It has been a hotter than normal summer at home, as I suspect it is for many people these days. It was also the most humid summer here that I can recall. Scheduling a trip a month to get out of the heat was something to look forward to. Continue reading “Let’s Escape This Heat!”
